Indian Metal Forming Sector Poised for Growth

Metal forming machine tools play a significant role in manufacturing of high precision components and machines needed in various industrial sectors. The Indian metal forming industry is still evolving to meet the full potential and demand for advanced technology machines.

Domestic market share of metal forming constitutes around 45 - 50% and the remaining is imported from countries like Japan, Germany and China. Forging machines, bending and folding machines, shearing machines, punching machines and presses form a large chunk of the imports.

India has initiated several reforms towards the ease of doing business to make the country a preferred destination for setting up industrial units.
